Beautifully written, artfully described this small book of vignettes or snapshots of Esperanza Cordero's adolescence is filled with beauty and heartache. Her story unfolds among a colorful cast of family and neighbors as she grows and dreams right here in Chicago.

This is certainly one book I will revisit again and again and take away something new with each reading.
