it was amazing
bookshelves: dear-time

This is a funny yet warm story of a bunch of hobos in Monterey California who decide they want to throw a party for their friend Doc Ricketts, a marine biologist. They get him to hire them to collect frogs for his lab and use the money he pays them to buy the booze and invite everybody in town. I've probably given too much away already, but their scheming, planning, and the trouble they get into will crack you up.
