Mike Puma Sorry to see you didn't care for this title. It was highly recommended to me by a friend with whom I usually share the same feelings towards books. Drats! I'll get to it eventually. In fairness, my friend is weird as hell, but then, so am I.

Djrmel Don't let my rating discourage you from reading it. As you can see from the average, most people like it a lot more than I did. I found it to be a case of the sum being lesser than the parts. The contemporary portion of the book alone would have gotten 3, maybe 4 stars, and the historical fiction sections would have made a great standalone book as well. They seemed forced together, though, and as the book progressed, each time the plot jumped backwards or forwards I liked it a little less. The book is quite readable for anyone who wants to be immersed in the life of a very original protagonist.
