I gotta think this book was banned somewhere in the South or my own midwest because it holds nothing back in its daringness. I would be ecstatic if my non-existent children read it, but it is thematically and conceptually challenging and interesting. I haven't read Milton since high school, but this makes me want to re-read Paradise Lost as soon as I finish The Amber Spyglass. NEED THIRD BOOK!!!!!!!
