Read in July, 2005

you must read danticat's breathless descriptions of what it was to be a haitian in the dominican republic.

I cried for days over one specific chapter towards the end of the book. her writing is so beautiful, leaves a permanently tender mark on me.

i've read it twice. I think i'll read it again.
