Well. That one is off the shelf. Was it good? Um. Interesting view on what could have happened after the Phantom of the Opera story, but it was all over the place. No clue why the preface was included, the point of view was difficult to track as each chapter was from a different character (also limiting the impact of the narration), and the end was...meh.

Given the other reviews from readers on Goodreads, I'd say if you're a huge Gaston Leroux fan to avoid this because the preface will probably piss you off. If you've never read the original book or seen the musical, this one won't make a ton of sense. If you're just a casual fan of the book (or most especially the stage production) it could be worth a look.
