Very enjoyable read. The author, who died in 2008 before publication, wrote this book as a series of letters. Not only do you become involved with all of the characters, but you learn some of the history of Guernsey during the German occupation. I highly recommend this book!

Mary Ann Shaffer visited London in 1976 and became interested in Guernsey. She became stranded there when a thick fog caused all boats and planes to be grounded. Warming herself by the heat of the hand-dryer in the men's restroom, she read all the books in the Guernsey airport bookstore, including "Jersey under the Jack-Boot." This started her fascination with the German Occupation of the Channel Islands and eventually led her to write this book.
