This is the best book of the series so far. It takes everything Will has done and pushes him one step further: in his abilities as a Ranger, a thinker, in compassion, and in love.

He's had worse villains to face, but none so complex and fully real. His biggest challenge is not facing Keren in battle, but reaching him through the castle's defences.

This series is one of the best out for its age group, but don't let the fact that it's a children's book stop you from reading it. It really is an amazing story, with bright, likable characters.
