This is a really great story! Really great! It is Christmas Day, and I have spent it reading and thoroughly enjoying this book. The main character, Zaydee, is super-cool. She's smart, intriguing, and also sympathetic. She isn't hardened, but wise. She's perceptive and intelligent, not arrogant.

It was really easy to suspend disbelief with this story because the plot is exciting, the action really moves, and the characters are sufficiently interesting without the author going overboard on character development. We see who they are by their actions, not by telling details of minutiae or never-ending thought processes.

There's a lot of intrigue; this story has a lot going on. A lesser writer wouldn't be able to keep all those balls in the air without confusing or annoying the reader. Holy Ghost Writer clearly has the talent to write a really good story, and that is a writer's primary and most important goal.

This author obviously favors the Stieg Larsson books and style. I actually prefer this author and look forward to enjoying more stories by him/her. The only reason this isn't a five-star review is that "That Girl Started her Own Country" needs a once-over edit. Nothing major, just some basic clean-up and proofreading for any typos and incorrect grammar. While the story is so good that it wasn't overly distracting, the book would be stronger with a run-through to correct those minor issues.

If you're looking for a fast-paced, engaging, intelligent, and action-packed read, "That Girl Started Her Own Country" is highly recommended.
