really liked it

Chains is another recent historical fiction tale set during the Revolutionary War period, told from the perspective of a slave. The protagonist is a young slave girl named Isabel. I enjoyed this vivid story of mixed loyalties, the perspective of historic change from a slave's point of view, and the moral dilemmas explored. A pet peeve is that there is no indication that this book will continue in a sequel.
