This is a light weight Distopia book focusing on issues that teens deal with - the desire to fit in, to be beautiful, the way society conditions us. It was a good read and the world Westerfeld creates is very interesting.

However, I found the main character unconvincing, or should I say, inconsistent. The way she is presented in the first part of the book does not match the way she is presented in the second part, and there is no explanation for this inconsistency (no gradual change, no revelation, etc).
