I was really looking forward to this book because I have always been curious about childhood under Communism. I don't know if it was a poor translation, but the book seemed rather awkward and all over the place. She did say some interesting things, and it did give a unique perspective on how her generation was coping, but I felt like it lacked something. It was a very quick read.
