Wow! This is the first of several Lily Bard mysteries, and they have been very popular for going on ten years now. No wonder. Lily is a tough violence-survivor living in small-town Shakespeare, Arkansas, trying to lead a quiet life to recover from the terrors of her past. She's a loner, she's tough and strong, and it seems that murder and mystery just won't leave her alone. I really fell for Lily and can't wait to read the others in this series. She is the most original character I have met in ages. This book is about murder in a small town and the whole spectrum og human emotions that come along with it. It is supposed to be a cozy, but it's a real hard-boiled one. If you are looking for something different, try Lily Bard!
