** spoiler alert ** I felt like, of the five books, this one dragged the most and I was mostly just trying to get through it instead of actually enjoying it. Ce'Nedra burst into tears a little too often for it to be enjoyable--again, the lack of feeling the character's emotions or even being reminded of them was a serious drawback. And it ended very, very predictably--good guy wins with very little effort or cost to himself and his close circle of friends, every is happy and skipping, no one is discontented. I mean, I'm all for an all-out happy ending, but how predictably they got to it was what left me feeling slightly dissatisfied. Still, it's a good series, and definitely something engaging and fun to read. I love the characters--except, perhaps, Ce'Nedra. But I guess you can't like them all.
