i liked this very much and was sad sad sad that it ended, but the language -- beautiful, lyrical language -- got in the way of my attention. don't know if it was me or it. i wish it had been a lot longer. the story is really super. and something else: who the hell knew there are people living like this in the middle of the north american continent, in areas we regularly fly over on our trips between large metropolitan areas, possibly areas we could drive through if we avoided the highway system? not me.
