Ex-MP Jack Reacher is the kind of guy you want on your side in any fight. That's a cliche to say, but he's just reliable and steady and tough. This adventure finds him in Colorado, investigating trouble in two small towns, Despair and Hope. Great adventure like Indiana Jones but a much better developed protag.

Didnt you think that this book was a little too pat. I mean why did he have to investigate these two towns. It seemed to me that it was like he was in a town full of boys and he was the only man there.

Ed Sure it was. For me, it was purely escapist fiction. I mean he always had the right answer like how to blow up stuff. Kind of like McGyver on steroids. I think a lot of the story was told with tongue-in-cheek.

Michelle LOL@ McGyver on steriods. I would add "McGyver on Steroids and with a chip on his shoulder..."

Marla I never really care - I love Jack Reacher! LOL! I love how he gets away with stuff, and the "good" guy wins and the bad guy loses. AS Ed states its pure escapsit fiction.
