Trot, Cap'n Bill, and Button Bright are transported to Oz by the Ork and find themselves in a battle for control of the kingdom of Jinxland by King Krewl. Scarecrow of Oz is one of the best Oz sequels and is very original itself. Though it is called the Scarecrow of Oz, the Scarecrow doesn't show up until over halfway through book. The book's main characters (Trot, Cap'n Bill, Button Bright) were all featured in other Baum books (Button Bright also appeared in The Road to Oz), and with The Scarecrow of Oz, Baum streamlined these characters into Oz continuity. Scarecrow of Oz features the best of Oz with likeable characters and clever wordplay.
