Lindsey is investigating a series of fires where books with latin inscriptions are left at the scene and married couples are found burnt to death. The author starts with a horrific description of a couple letting two personable college students into their house believing the boys are friends of their son only to be tied up and burned along with their house.
During the beginning of the investigation, Lindsey and her partner Rich get called in to investigate a prostitute in the disappearance of the ex-governor's son. She confesses that he died from a genetic cardiac problem while they were having sex and that she and her boyfriend had dismembered him and dumped his body parts in an unremembered location. Later, when charges are filed, she recants. There is no evidence. Did she do it??
The book has Lots of drama and is a fast read that is difficult to put down.
