it was amazing

I purchased this book not really knowing what it was all about. I ended up finding it difficult to put down. Dracula, a new concept. Vlad Tepes, Eastern European history, a tour of the Balkans, all told by the daughter of the last "vampire hunter". The book is long, but for some reason (perhaps the artistry of the author) I never felt bored. The book moves rapidly, and although it jumps from one decade to another, you are prepared for the jump by the narrative of the daughter, it's not easy to get lost. Kostova pulls you along, and you find yourself going willingly, sometimes even pushing to get to the next segment. A very good read that takes you from Amsterdam to Istanbul, to Bulgaria and, of course, Romania. Well worth the time.
