Equivalent to the first one, with a little more danger and scary monsters. If I hadn't bought these at a used book store, I'd be feeling ripped-off at the $50 retail price. One character from the last book - Thimbletack - appears in two chapters, and then isn't seen for the rest of the book. Later, when Hogsqueal is introduced, I felt disoriented. One hundred pages really isn't much space to get a story told in, and this book really wouldn't stand without the previous title. On the up side, I've got a child begging for the third, so it is good to him.
