My son Christian brought home the first three books of the "Ranger's Apprentice" series, with orders for me to read them. This first book started off a little slowly for me, but by the end I was hooked! Like Christian, I enjoy a story where a regular person (a kid!) gets a chance to do outstanding or heroic things. And Christian (of course) was right--this is an enjoyable book: character development, descriptions, humor, challenges & accomplishments...
Sign of a good book: I picked up #2 the minute I finished #1!
