It's 1984. Everyone should read this book. I am ashamed that I haven't re-read this recently, and I should really pick it up. One thing I will mention that bugs me to no end is when people claim that it's a warning against Communism. At it's basest state, it's a warning against super states and the loss of individualism. I think that one of the reasons it became so successful and was allowed to spread in the United States school system is because it was disguised as an argument against Communism, when in fact it it as much an argument against states gaining too much power over their own people and each other.
