The four students were the golden boys and girls of Victoria Springs, MO, but when they return for their twentieth high school reunion, their promise has faded and there are conflicts among them. In addition, the boy most of them had bullied has returned as well--confident, rich and ready for revenge. But when one of the golden girls, author Francine, is murdered, everyone is a suspect, including her pushy agent. And they are all staying at Tess Darcy's bed-and-breakfast, Iris House. If that isn't enough reason for the always-inquisitive Tess to investigate, maybe the fact that Francine was killed at Tess's cousin's bookstore gives Tess added impetus.
