Read from July 28 to December 20, 2011 — I own a copy

I finally finished Anansi Boys.

It was a slow start, but despite the fact that it took me months to read it I did enjoy the story. It was just difficult to get into, from the beginning I felt a kinship to Fat Charlie, this underdog who never could stand up for himself and always seemed to have terrible luck. Through the middle of the story things only get worse for him, especially with the introduction of his much cooler, much luckier and happier brother Spider for whom it seemed nothing could go wrong.

Finally though the strands of the web began to make sense to me and the pieces began to fit together into an intricate and very interesting and satisfying plot.

Although it is still not my favorite work of Gaiman's it is certainly something that should move to the front of any reading list (just maybe not above the Graveyard Book).
