As a life-long lover of Lucky (ok, maybe not life long, but you gotta love the alitteration of that statement), I thought I'd be in fashion-induced euphoria once I got my hands on this manual but alas, I closed it after decidedly underwhelmed.
My style (and no, I'm not the most stylish girl on the block)is not really inclined toward any of the categories that they dare the reader to "master." And my guess is, there are lots of other women who don't fit in to, nor really have an interest in fitting into any of these boxes.
It was good at what LUCKY is always good at--wonderful presentation, creative ways of putting clothes together, finding knockout pieces, and talking to the reader in the happy, sometimes hyperbolic and adjective heavy language of fashion it is famous for--basically, these girls know their shit, but it just didn't hit the mark for me.
One redeeming point for me came at the end when they had Lucky staffers model combos of each style and that was where I found the most interest.
