It's been a long time since I read any real science fiction, and this book reminded me why. It's not really my thing. Or at least this book wasn't. I thought Cordelia bordered on Cordelia Sue at times, and Vorkosigan was a little cryptic for my taste, much of the time.

I knew this was the first in a series, and in the reading I thought I detected some things that would resonate through future books.

Not that I'll be investigating, however. I didn't like the characters enough, or care about their politics enough* to read any more in the series. I like Bujold, though, and will see if I can find more of her books that are more fantasy in nature.

(* - or at all, for that matter. Wars in space? Beh.)
