A fresh spin on an age old classic fairy tale- The Twelve Dancing Princesses. Petunia is on her way to visit her godmother when her carriage is set upon by bandits, the famous two legged wolves of the wood. In reality it is brothers who must rob the rich to feed the poor in their kingdom which has been divided between other kingdoms when their father fell out of favor. After Petunia learns the truth of the "wolves" she tries to right a wrong but it is she and her sisters (of dancing fame) that will be in danger. Oliver (akin to Robin Hood) goes to see Petunia's father to enlist his help to rescue Petunia and the story takes on a very different twist from there. This is one of a series involving the dancing princesses so I was a bit lost at various times but the book still delivers an interesting cross between the classic fairy tales and a much darker storyline.
