This is a dark and haunting tale of a young Nigerian girl determined to survive; first in Nigeria and then in England. The book tells the horrors of both the African and English cultures - the Nigerian physical tortures and the English psychological neglect.

Simon and Schuster did the author a mis-service by promoting this book as a light-hearted or hystericalyy read. This is a well-written book, but it is NOT hilarious. There are some lighter moments resulting from the idioms of the English language, but it is in no way funny. This inappropriate promotion may result in fewer sales for the author.
