The idea behind the graphic novel (GN) - reusing and rewriting the Rapunzel fairy tale - is fun and would appeal to all ages of teens, though primarily girls. This GN though is definitely meant for younger children. I wouldn't even say this would be good for teens, as it reads more like something a middle school kid would like. Though the age is off, this is a great GN for promoting "girl power", as the entire book is pretty much Rapunzel going around using her hair as a whip to get her out of dangerous situations. The pictures are great, but the writing and dialogue leaves something to be desired. Young teens who like to "stick it to the man" and enjoy fantasy might like this GN.
