Read in January, 2009

Most people who talk about Chris McCandless either lionize or demonize him, and I think that Krakauer did a really excellent job of not doing either. He's clear sighted about Chris' motivations, his naivete, and the ways in which his experience was not naive... this is a gut and heart rending read but overall, I dug it. Hated the movie. Jenna Malone narrating just about made me want to burn it.

Gabe Have you seen Grizzly Man? Having seen that movie, I didn't really feel a need to read this since it's kind of the same thing, only Werner Herzog makes everything more awesome.

Caitlin I haven't!

April Just wanted to throw it out there that Grizzly Man really was an awesome documentary. It stayed on my mind for weeks after I saw it and I still think about it randomly.
