really liked it
bookshelves: read-in-2009

I picked up this book and could not put it down and even stayed up late just to finish it. It is suprising this story hasn't been made into a major motion picture, as far as I know at least. The writing is mediocre but the story is remarkable. While it is about the world's greatest stock trader it is really a look into the life and mind of someone who is extraordinary at what he does and what made him great. I found the references to the people he knew-- J.P. Morgan, E.F. Hutton, and other famous names of that era that most people know but don't know why very entertaining and reading about that time period facscinating.
