it was amazing

It took me awhile to find this book. My sister swore that it was one of the best books she had read (I agree) - but she thought it was called "The Birds of Paradise" (like the plant). Every bookstore and library I went to thought I was insane when I explained that I wasn't looking for a plant book. I finally found an old tattered edition at the library and it did end up being one of the best books I have read. I am currently reading another one of Barbara Woods books because of it. It takes place in Cairo and I really enjoyed learning about the changes in history and culture in that part of the world. It felt like I was pysically being taken to a different time and place when I read it. It was like a treat each time I picked it up.
