it was amazing

This is a wonderfully clear-headed romance, with one of the happiest but least-contrived endings I have ever read. This is my first Austen novel; I was afraid at first that it might not be my cup of tea, as I tend not to enjoy romance novels or romantic comedies. I've since learned that dismissing this classic as just another romance would be like calling the Ring Trilogy just another fantasy. Like Tolkien, Austen owns her genre. This is a wonderfully written piece of literature and does far more than simply thrust two passionate lovers into each others arms. The characters are spirited and the dialogue is brilliant. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a truly uplifting novel.

Andrea Hi Becky! I'm so glad you liked it! This is one of my favorites. I just saw it performed this weekend at a Milwaukee theater, and it was hilarious. I'd forgotten how witty Jane Austen is. I'm working on "Reading Lolita in Tehran." I'll let you know my verdict. Oh, and good luck at your reading! I wish I could be there!
