I'm very rarely disappointed at the end of any Dickens novel (as with Bleak House), but they usually do take me a while to get through. As with most classics, the pacing is slower. This one bored me a little from the beginning with all the court stuff--Jarndyce and Jarndyce, Chancery. But I loved Esther's story and when the narration turned back to Esther, I was always a little more into it. The novel does have A LOT of secondary characters--many hard to follow until about halfway through. But most everything works out in the end.
