I'm reading. I just finished the "short" section and now I'm into the "medium." Several of these stories in the short some of the best things I've read by Kevin Sampsell. (I think his book "A Common Pornography" is pretty great.) Other stories have twist endings and kind of jerky puns, which I enjoy for their corniness. I'm glad these stories were included in this collection.

I just finished this book last week. There are a some beautifully dirty stories in it. Overall I was struck by the sense I guess of honesty in these stories -- or rather than being dishonest or artificial wasn't the primary concern of these narrators, and in the turn the stories often were about tangential moments or bits of language in their character's lives and therefore the stories themselves were not interested in making me think something specific about the narrator or the prose style or anything like that. It was a bit like overhearing sometimes the way I think about things I can't figure out in my own life.
