Ok- this was a second read for me. The first time I read (ok skimmed) this book for school. This time I was actually interested in reading it and really enjoyed it. I especially liked the Florida references since I have now been to alot of the places she mentions in the book. I was also more facinated with Hurston's life, especially her frinedship with Beanie Backus and some of the Highwaymen. So, back to the book, Janie was pretty amazing woman. I found it fintruging that Hurston could create such a dynamic character and reveal her through the relationships she had with men. Liked it much better the second time.
