Brodie Hayes is a famed rodeo star, now forty and retired. He gets the shock of his life when Alex Donovan appears on his doorstep. A private investigator, Alex is working an easy case for a woman who believes Brodie might be her long lost son. The revelations that follow force Brodie to look deep inside himself to decide who he really is.

This was, for the most part, an excellent book. I found myself really caring for the characters. I found some of the plot devices unbelievable and hard to swallow, forced in there more to tie the story and the characters together a bit more. The book probably would have scored five stars from me if it wasn't for the horrible epilogue. Poorly written and hard to follow, it had no business even being in the book. For the most part I hate epilogues, but this one made me hate them more than usual. In romance books it's usually a way to show the main characters happily wedded and raising babies. This one is no exception and it's disappointing in an otherwise excellent book.
