really liked it

I can see how the style would put some people off, and how the meticulous detailing of every little thing could be annoying... and there were some scenes I found myself skimming, scenes loaded with exposition on the history of a specific paint color or something. But when it worked (as it did in that awesome opening chapter), it fucking worked, and I loved it. Sometimes a little more pretentious and high-falutin' than I'd like it to be, but the good far outweighed the bad for me. And in the end, when Hex is on the verge of making his big decision, I was completely invested in the whole thing, actually having a physical reaction to it (seriously-- heart pounding, etc.), which has to be a good thing.
