Taylor Markham was abandoned by her mom when she was 11 and raised in an Australian boarding school by den mother Hannah. When Hannah mysteriously disappears one day, the search for her leads Taylor to discover things about herself (past, present and future) and those that love her.

Marchetta's latest work is well done, but I didn't fall in love with it like the Printz committee. I found the plot to be too neat, a bit melodramatic and I didn't like how everything wrapped up a little too well. But the character development (particularly Taylor and Jonah) and the dialogue is great.

Interestingly, I think the Printz committee must have taken teen appeal into consideration when they picked this book. I think teens will love the drama and how the puzzle fits together. It's definitely one I would recommend to teens.
