A fun book. Bear's prose is overall quite fantastic; she has a flowing style, highly descriptive, that can reach beautiful heights. Her characters are interesting and the plot is intriguing. She does some new and unexpected things with fantasy and fairy tale tropes, which is beautiful to see. It was easy to get lost in the book and its characters, and I found myself sad when it ended.
