We read this aloud to each other, which tends to mean that Terran reads and I listen and knit, but sometimes I read :).

This is truly a timeless humor classic. Even calling from so many years ago, most of the absurd situations of vacations, camping, boating, and egos resonates with any of us who have encountered any of these things. And even so, it gives some precious glimpses into the every day life of a working man in the day.

Humor is so often dated within a few years. I think any story that can still make readers laugh more than a hundred years after it was written is a true classic.

Kiri I'm looking forward to your review(s) of it; ever since reading "To Say Nothing of the Dog", I've been curious about this one.
