After the battle with the draug, Claire thought that things would be better for the humans in Morganville but in reality the opposite is happening. Amelie has become involved with Oliver and is listening to his advice which is turn the town back the way it used to be with the humans to be hunted at will. When Myrnin tells Claire thing are going bad and she should leave town she refuses to abandon her friends. But things are going from bad to worse with the whole town turned against the four roommates. Claire needs to fix things before the the whole town explodes.

This book had too many things going on, it was Caine had the ideas for three books but mashed them all into one. That said it wasn't a bad read and I did like the Monica signs.
