Kleon's advice ranges from good (steal like an artist, don't wait until you know who you are to get started), to inane (be nice, be boring), to questionable (side projects are important, creativity is substraction), to downright dangerous (write the book you want to read, use your hands). Not to say that those last two are never true (they obviously work for Kleon, but to tell young artists that they should never compromise on what they "like" vs. a paying gig and that computers are fundamentally soul-sucking (a paraphrase) is just terrible terrible advice.

Throw on top of the mixed nature of the advice the fact that none of it is fleshed out to any degree and you basically have a crappy internet meme turned into a book.
