PS, I Love You

Ahh Chick Flick. Confession number one: I only start to read the book because of the author - Ms Cecelia Ahern is the sister-in-law of Nicky Byrne of Westlife - which happens to be my favourite band of all time. Confession number two: the book failed to change my reading habits - I still like fantasy best. Confession number three: I did not read the book until months after I purchase it and by the time the movie had came out for more than six months and I stubbornly refuse to watch the movie because I wanted to read the book first - which I did. To be honest, I would have simply accidentally forget to read the book if it had not been for certain level of temptation. I wanted to know. It is safe to say, by the end of the book - though it had failed to make me a chick flick lover - had made me bawled my eyes out. I loved Holly, the fact that she was trying and refuse to try at the same time didn't even bother me. I liked how much she had loved her husband Gerry - even long after he was gone and it nearly killed her. I loved how Gerry kept trying to make her realize that just because he was gone, her world doesn't have to end. Each letter allow me to understand the dynamic of the story better. They were short, but hey, who said a letter had to be extremely long - okay, so say the expert... pfftt. I really do love how Gerry could insert bits of his undying love with each one of it. How he tried and tried to keep Holly alive from beyond the grave. He must have really loved her and that really moved me...
