Fun, fun, fun.
I love to cook. Although i have a significant other, he is in the other room studying 99% of the time while i am cooking. It has turned into a solitary dance for me in the kitchen, with my big jars of bulk dried goods, small jars of spices, fresh fruits and vegetables, boxes of pasta, frozen embellishments, cookbooks and recipes.
Even though i am cooking for two, i am really only cooking for one. As much as i enjoy handing over a plate of lovingly-prepared, (hopefully) healthy deliciousness to someone i love, it is sometimes more about achieving some high level of cooking nirvana, some perfect warm dish that was executed without a hitch, and plays all the right notes in the nostrils, tastebuds and stomach.
Before i met Nat, i mostly subsided on tea and toast, which seemed to be (and still sometimes are) my ultimate comfort foods. Everyone has their dishes they can't live without, and if there were eighty more volumes of this book, each with new stories (inclu...more
