Delightful memoir about an Australian journalist who falls in love with a Frenchman and moves to Paris. Her insightful observations about the purpose of dinner parties, the strange relationship among women, what not to wear, how to serve a meal, how to circumvent all the red tape in France, why clochards demand caviar at "soup kitchens," etc., are hilarious. I learned more about the French by reading this book then I did while I was in France! It was also illuminating to see how another writer deals with covering fashion shows and world-renown chefs.
