Cindy I really loved Wally's first 2 novels. Reading this book I had to put it down twice to read my book club books. Also I was working so many hours that I didn't have much spare time to devote to reading. But I was able to totally enjoy the last 100 pages of this book and again was entertained by Wally Lamb's storytelling. This is a book that I will pick up and read again when I can read the entire book uninterrupted. He used actual events and fictionalized characters to make a great story. He used the shootings at Columbine, hurricane Katrina and the war in Iraq and intermingled an incredible story about his ancestors clear back in the civil war. Also a character from one of his other books makes an appearance in this book as well. The only reason this book did not receive 5 stars is due to the intermittent reading I did to read this book. When I get the chance to read it again I am sure it will get that extra star. Way to go Wally. Great story!!
