did not like it

I read everything Georgette Heyer when I was young and I adored her. This time around I just wished everyone shut up and get on with the story. I hope it is me, not her.

Suzanne Your review cracked me up! I felt the very same way this time around. However, I'm not giving up. I'm going to find the ones I originally adored. I'm just not going to bother finishing the ones where I wish everyone would just shut up. :)

Kathy I have faith in Heyer. I am pretty sure I picked the wrong book at the wrong time. If you find a great one before me, let me know. I switched, in disgust, from regency romance to horror fiction. Fortunately, that Pride and Prejudice with Zombies book just came out, conveniently combining the two. Yay.

Suzanne Hey Kathy,

I've found some good Heyers you might want to check out. I recently read and liked:

The Nonesuch
Frederica
Sylvester
The Reluctant Widow

Ones I'd avoid (other than the mutually disliked False Colours):

Lady of Quality
Bath Tangle

If you're bored with horror and ready to return to Regency romance maybe you'd enjoy the above.
