I really enjoyed Fugitives and Refugees: A Walk in Portland, Oregon, read it from cover to cover in only a couple hours. Written by Chuck Palahniuk, author of Fight Club and Choke, it's a quick and enjoyable 175 pages. It's a type of alternative travel guide to Portland, Oregon, in which Palahniuk mixes research with years of crazy experiences in places you'd never think to check out. My favorite was probably the story about the drunken Santa riot at the Lloyd Center (300 drunken Santas on one side of the street, Portland Police in riot gear on the other!). I've lived in Oregon for seven years & never heard of the majority of places in the book; I've got plenty of things to do for the rest of the summer now! If you like Portland, ch
