In the last 24 hours, I polished off "Still Alice". It is one of the most frightening, but touching books I've ever read. I picked it up, because I'd heard the author interviewed on NPR and then read an article about how she self-published the novel. It got great reviews, and I loved it. It's not a highbrow piece of literature by any means. It's just a great story about a woman dealing with early-onset Alzheimer's and how it affects her relationships. It is a stunning peek into the life of an Alzheimer's patient from the view of the patient. Highly recommend it.
